Director of Finance and Administration (but don't let the title fool you!)
Travis Campbell was born in Oshawa, Ontario but grew up in Bowmanville, Ontario (about an hour and a half outside of Toronto). A man with a wicked sense of humour, Travis majored in Basket-Weaving at the prestigious Brock University, with a minor in accounting.
Fortunately for Karen, his wife of 16 years, and his two children, Travis abandoned his dreams as a master weaver to pursue his passion for numbers as a CPA, CA (Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant).
Prior to Avanti, Travis worked at Compton Communications, an independent cable company, for almost ten years before it was acquired by Rogers, where he stayed on for about a year. Travis joined Avanti in July, 2013 as our Controller and was promoted to Director of Finance and Administration in 2014, allowing him to focus on more than just “number crunching”.
Travis is a swim parent and soccer enthusiast; he is a season ticket holder for Toronto FC (Toronto’s MLS team). As he puts it, “I get to be regularly saddened by Toronto sports in person.” He volunteers as President and Treasurer of the Uxbridge Swim Club and is a level 2 swim official. His children, (ages 14 and 11), have made their dad proud by their swimming speeds; they can each swim 5K non-stop in well under two hours.
When he’s not at the pool, Travis enjoys listening to his favourite alternative rock band, Queens of the Stone Age, and reading novels by Tom Clancy. You can also find Travis at the movies, most recently The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies.
